Welcome to MESD!
MESD Ed Tech Welcomes You!
If you have recently joined the instructional staff of the Moriarty-Edgewood School District, I would like to be among the first to welcome you aboard! Technology is part of the everyday routine of most MESD staff members, and Education Technology plays a key role in our district's vision for providing our students with transformational learning experiences. That being said, as a new member of our district's instructional staff, you will want to learn about what MESD has to offer and begin your onboarding experience with some of our digital platforms. The information below, should be helpful to you in getting started!
I look forward to meeting you and supporting you! 😊

Getting Started Guide for Instructional Staff
Getting Started with Google
Our district uses Google Workspace for Education, a powerful suite of productivity, creativity, and collaboration tools. Watch for an email (likely sent to your personal email account) from the MESD IT Department containing the login information for your new district Google account.
Your Google Account for Single Sign-On to Other Platforms
You will use your Google account login credentials to login to many (if not most) of the digital platforms we use throughout the district.Google Apps Training
You can learn more about the apps included in Google Workspace through training activities available in our self-paced, online ed tech training "game" called Learniverse. Learn more about Learniverse in the section below.
Self-Paced, Online Ed Tech Training
Learniverse is an online ed tech PD "game" that allows teachers and other instructional staff members to learn about our district's digital tools and best practices in digital pedagogy at their own pace.

How can I get help and support?
When it comes to technology support, there are really two different departments that you can turn to:
Education Technology Department
Support from the Ed Tech Department is primarily geared to the instructional integration of digital tools. We're here to help you really leverage the power of technology to transform learning outcomes. Want to try out a new digital tool? We're here to help! Want to dive into creating a student-centered, blended learning environment? We will coach you through it! As the system administrators for our LMS, we can also help you with Schoology issues when needed. (However, outside of Schoology, we aren't usually the best bet for help with technical issues.)
You can email the Ed Tech Department at ed-tech@mesd.us. For Schoology-related help, please fill out our Schoology Support Request Form (bit.ly/schoology-help).Information Technology (IT) Department
The IT Department supports technical issues related to software, hardware, and login issues with network accounts. This is the department to contact when something "breaks" or isn't working right.
You can place a support ticket for the IT Help Desk at k1000.mesd.us or by emailing testhelp@mesd.us
